I found M1! An oval shaped gray patch of light. Even though it wasn't much, and not as striking or
beautiful as the open clusters I have observed, I got immense satisfaction from finding it, especially
since I have been looking for it for quite some time now.
I also observed M36, M37 and M38 in Auriga, M35 in Gemini, M41 in Canis Major and M44 in Cancer! What a feast!
I wrote down some observations in my log book but I couldn't sketch down any of them as the clouds took over later on.
I have a science exam tomorrow, so I'd need to study for that. I'll observe more after the exams. I'm trying to get
a detailed star atlas as I definitely need one right now.
